What People Are Saying About ECHO: Client Testimonials – Part 3

January 30th, 2012

Stephen P. Hoover, former Chief Geophysicist, Coastal Oil & Gas, and former Senior Vice President, Opal Energy, Inc.
“I have appreciated the value of seismic data libraries since the 2-D days. Companies, both large and small, can stretch their exploration dollars by participating. I have worked closely with John Jancik and the ECHO staff since the beginning of the Gulf Coast 3-D Program. Coastal Oil & Gas was one of the first contributors to the program and benefited immensely as the Program grew and grew. Later, knowing the value of the database and working with a smaller start-up company with a limited budget, I purchased the data a second time. I have been very pleased with ECHO’s ability to continually add surveys and update them with the latest processing technology. Congratulations on a great program!”

Mike Sura, Concho Resources (Midland, Texas)
“ECHO Geophysical has been a great company to work with and their data libraries have been an excellent geological and geophysical tool.  I have used them in several geologic basins across the United States.”

What People Are Saying About ECHO: Client Testimonials

January 9th, 2012

At ECHO, we pride ourselves on our “resounding commitment to service”.  Our goal, for the past 25 years and counting, is to put our clients first and exceed expectations.  Here is what some of our Clients are saying about ECHO:

Bill Mueller, Antlers Exploration:
“Antlers Exploration is a lifetime member of several of Echo’s data pool programs.  We concentrate our efforts in the Permian Basin and, therefore, mostly use the programs developed for this area. A major part of our business plan calls for exploiting these seismic surveys, developing prospects from both the original processing and Echo reprocessed versions of the data. Over the years we have found these data to be invaluable to our company.

Since 2004 Antlers has had approximately 20 wells drilled on projects developed from these data sets and our success rate has been better than 50%. We continue to develop prospects from the Echo pools and it appears that we will be able to exploit new ideas well into the foreseeable future.”

Jay May, Concho Resources:
“I have been using 2D and 3D data from the Permian and West Texas programs for the past 10 years.  The programs have provided hundreds of miles and square miles of 2D and 3D data that we have used in exploration, prospect development and geosteering in the Permian Basin.I think the Permian 3D program is approaching 100 surveys now!  I have always been pleased with the growth of the program.  It is the best deal in the industry!

It is uncanny how many times a new survey is in a perfect location to help move forward with a new play!  The latest offering, the West Texas Seistrade program, has already had a positive impact to our mapping and drilling efforts.  I look forward to watching it grow as well.

Keep up the good work!”

Rowell Fund for Tibet Announces Grants to Projects on Maternal Healthcare, Photography, Journalism, & Oral History

December 17th, 2011

The Rowell Fund for Tibet’s Board of Advisors has decided to award funds for 2012 to seven projects that deal with maternal health care, oral history, journalism, education and photography. The Fund will award $40,968 to applicants for projects throughout Asia in memory of lifelong Tibet supporters, Galen and Barbara Rowell, who died in a plane crash in 2002.

The Fund received 111 applications from Tibetans in Tibet and outside for this grant cycle, and the selected projects will receive amounts ranging from $7500 to $3725.

“With a record number of applications this year, the Board of Advisors had more diversity of projects, but no less of a challenge in selecting the best projects that fulfill the mission of the Rowell Fund. We hope that the Rowell Fund continues to fill a niche to provide core or supplemental funding for projects that may be otherwise hard to fund,” said John Ackerly, member of the Board of Advisors of Rowell Fund for Tibet.

As avid mountaineers and outdoor photographers, Galen and Barbara Rowell helped bring Tibet and the Himalayas into the public eye. Their fund continues this legacy, providing small grants to Tibetan writers, academics, photographers, and conservationists. To learn more about Galen and Barbara Rowell and the background of the Rowell Fund, visit http://www.savetibet.org/support-tibet/donate-rowell-fund.

Some of this year’s grant recipients are:*

1. Association of Tibetan Journalists (ATJ) in Dharamsala to publish a stylebook in Tibetan language, primarily on print and radio reporting. (Grant amount: $7243) www.tibetanjournalists.org

2.Tibetan Oral History Project to record and translate the personal histories of Tibetan elders in Tibetan settlements in India. (Grant amount: $7500) www.tibetoralhistory.org

3. Common Ground to undertake photography workshop project in Dharamsala to encourage Tibetan photographers. (Grant amount: $3725) www.commongroundsproject.org

*Not all projects have been listed as some of the recipients have requested confidentiality.

ICT and the Rowell Fund for Tibet wish to congratulate this year’s grant recipients. Past recipients have included Tibetans who have undertaken photography, film making and related projects that have enriched the Tibetan society. The Advisory Board of the Fund is made up of friends and family of Galen & Barbara and includes John Ackerly, Conrad Anker, David Breashears, Jimmy Chin, Bob and Beth Cushman, John Jancik , Bob Palais, Tony Rowell and Ray and Nicole Rowell Ryan. The Fund is managed by the International Campaign for Tibet.
