ECHO Geophysical Corporation Strongly Supports Mercy Corps' Efforts In Haiti
With the death toll over 217,000 and over one million Haitians displaced because of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake, the world's need to provide assistance should not be delegated to the back pages of the news as time passes on. Haiti's capital city, Port-au-Prince, is 75% in ruins. No one should look the other way from such overwhelming devastation. Mercy Corps has been one of the leading first responder organizations for three decades and played a major role in providing on the ground assistance with the Chinese earthquake in 2008, Hurricane Katrina in 2005 and the Indian Ocean Tsunami in 2004. They have been given support for their efforts in Haiti by such corporations as Nike, Amazon.com and Best Buy. ECHO-WIT's Alliance Expands
ECHO-WIT 3-D PSDM Alliance Expands Recognizing client needs for advanced imaging techniques, ECHO has teamed up with Wave Imaging Technology Inc. (WIT) to provide top quality 3-D Pre-Stack Depth Migration (PSDM) services for an economical price. To kick off the processing alliance, ECHO and WIT are promoting PSDM for the following two surveys in ECHO’s 3-D Gulf Coast Program: #18 West George West (27.49 sq. miles) and #67 Spindletop (42.66 sq. miles) WIT’s PSDM methodology allows for migration and velocity analysis from topography and is suitable for irregular acquisition geometries. WIT uses a combination of expert structural geologic input and proprietary migration techniques to provide some of the most sophisticated PSDM products available. WIT’s proprietary technology includes: Migration Velocity Focusing Analysis is a patent-pending method to use wave equation pre-stack depth migration (WEM) to update migration velocities in areas where conventional velocity definition methods may fail. |
